The entry process

At what point will my credit card be charged during the site submission process?

At the end of the entry process, if paying by credit card. We accept Mastercard, Visa, and American Express. This will automatically charge your credit card. As we are verifying your credit card information, this process may take a minute. Please wait. Clicking the button again may result in double billing. If you click the “process my entry” button multiple times and are double billed as a result, email a copy of your confirmation receipt to annalee@signalaward.com.

Can I withdraw my entry? Will I get a refund?

You may withdraw your entry by emailing annalee@signalaward.com. However, you will not receive a refund as entries can be reviewed at any point following submission.

How can I be sure you have received my entry?

You will see a confirmation page noting your entry number and will also receive a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your entry. If you do not receive an email confirmation within 24 hours, please email annalee@signalaward.com.

How can I change my entry?

The following information can be changed on an entry at any time by contacting Signal Awards Call for Entries Customer Service via annalee@signalaward.com:

  • Contact info
  • URL – The URL can be changed only if it is for the same work that has won/shortlisted or if it has not yet been reviewed.
  • Category – A category change will be granted as long as the show has not yet been reviewed by our panel of judges.


Do you have to be based in the U.S. to participate?

No. The Signal Awards accepts entries from all over the world.

Does the entry need to be in English?

No. All entries submitted in a language other than English will be reviewed using Google Translate. All video podcast entries in a language other than English MUST be dubbed or subtitled.

Categories

Which category should I enter?

Signal Awards has four entry types to choose from,
Limited Series & Specials
: podcasts published as a one off, limited run or season
Shows: “always on” podcasts
Individual Episode
s: standalone episodes
Branded Shows & Advertising
: shows made by or with a brand partner, content marketing
It is up to the entrant to choose which category is most appropriate for their particular entry. An entry can be entered in multiple categories as appropriate. If work is entered in multiple categories, it is eligible to win multiple times. The Judging Academy reserves the right to move entries to other categories if it is clearly appropriate to do so.


Can I enter more than one category?

Yes, absolutely! Many entrants submit work in multiple categories where applicable.

Judging Process

How do you pick the judges for Signal Awards?

The Signal Awards Judging Academy is a by-invitation cohort of professionals and on-mic talent who have made an indelible impact on the podcast medium and/or the industry. If you are interested in becoming a judge, application details can be found here.

Is it possible to receive the judges’ ratings and comments for my site?

Due to the volume of entries, Signal Awards cannot offer individual comments and ratings of the work submitted.

Winning an award

What do I get if I win a Signal Award?

All Gold, Silver, Bronze and Listener’s Choice Signal Award winners can purchase a customized, engraved statuette to promote their achievements. Digital badges are provided for winners’ websites and/or publications. All winners are invited to celebrate with us at our annual Winner’s Party.

Can I buy additional Signal Awards statuettes for members of my team, clients and others if I win?

Yes, absolutely. All winners are encouraged to purchase additional Signal Awards statuettes for their team and clients.

Where does the money for the entry fees go?

Entry fees allow The Signal Awards to operate on a day-to-day basis and are the most dependable way to support and sustain the administration and technology of a credible multi-tiered judging process and annual awards celebration.

Can I rent the list of Signal entrants or winners?

No. We do not rent or sell our entrant or winner lists.
